Vada pav, a popular street food in Mumbai, is similar to American burger in which a spicy potato dumpling is kept inside the pav bread. Anyone traveling to Mumbai don’t like to return home before visiting an eatery serving street foods like vada pav, pav bhaji, etc. It is fascinating to find people from every walk of life whether a celebrity, or a taxi driver dropping in to such joints to savor these tantalizingly delicious goodies.

Potato dumpling (Batata Vada) :
First we need to prepare potato balls as below.
Then fry those potato balls after dipping into chickpea flour batter.
Garlic chutney : Roast all the ingredients in oil and grind into a coarse powder.
Green Chutney: Grind all ingredients into chutney and pour some lemon juice into it to retain its green color. You may also add a pinch of chaat masala for flavor.
How to assemble vada pav: Pav bread should be cut open horizontally but not split into two, garlic chutney or green chutney to be smeared on each slice separately and vada placed between the slices. Serve vada pav with tomato sauce, or green chutney and garnish with onion rings & fried green chilli.
